Coco Jones’ “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” Tops R&B Chart for 4th Week
The Lenny Williams-sampled song shows no sign of slowing down.
Coco Jones is making waves as her addictive single “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” secures its fourth consecutive week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. The track, built around a Lenny Williams sample, has become the longest-running chart-topper by a female artist for a 2024 release.
The journey of “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” has been incredible. After debuting on the chart in early July, the song steadily climbed, breaking into the top 10 by mid-October and claiming the No. 1 spot in December. Produced by the duo Cardiak and Wu10, this hit single serves as the lead track from Jones’ highly anticipated debut album, slated for release in 2025.
Discussing the song’s concept, Jones shared with Rated R&B, “I think the music inspired the song concept because I feel like with the sample, it feels like this orchestra and like a mystery. [It’s] like this mission is happening like 007 or something. I was like, ‘What could be the mission here?’ And the mission, I feel like, is to be free from this person that constantly comes back in — to get over that hurdle.”
“Here We Go (Uh Oh)” has also earned two Grammy nominations for 2025: Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance.
Looking ahead to Jones’ debut album, fans can expect a mix of emotional storytelling and innovative collaborations. The project will feature tracks like the Future-assisted “Most Beautiful Design,” co-produced by London on da Track, and the energetic “Sweep It Up.”
Speaking about her duet with Future, Jones explained, “I’ve always been a fan of rap and R&B duets, so being able to modernize that format alongside Future – a rapper with such longevity and years of success in the game, is so exciting to me.” She added, “‘Most Beautiful Design’ is the space London on da Track discovered where both of our worlds collide and we get to find common ground as, rapper and singer, and as man and woman.”
On “Sweep It Up,” she remarked, “I am so excited to give the world an uptempo R&B bop… I’ve been waiting on this for a while.”
While the release date for her debut album remains under wraps, Coco Jones has cemented her place as one of R&B’s brightest stars, with “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” continuing to dominate the airwaves and fans eagerly awaiting her next move.
